I love the company. The management is hit or miss, it gives them a lot of freedom, way more than one would ever expect of a corpo. And it led to a lot of success, it found its niche as the somewhat punk company that lets its streamers get away with more shit than most.
But it also does dumb shit like forcing them to play minecraft when some of them don't really want to. It has even made them build shit in survival off stream to have more s hit in their world.
The talents themselves are great, no real complains, they are all very fun in their own ways.
There's a lot of variety in their tastes and humor and personalities. The content itself also has a good variety, some do reaction stuff, others do zatsu, others are gamers. They even have a strategy gamer which is rare.
There's definitely a certain menhera angle, most of them have at least some sort of personal issue and they are semi-open about it, sometimes they play it up for entertainment but if you get to know them they become sympathetic and relatable people with real human emotions.
These girls open up a lot for a corpo and it's easy to feel a stronger connection with them than a big corpo.
It feels more genuine.
In terms of the companys "personality" and its stance on various subjects, while Hololive tries to remain safe non-controversial and has an idol identity, and Vshoujo is progressive, raunchy and has an e-girls identity, Phase Connect are more rebellious, the girls feel more like average girls with often based takes.
By based I mean they have opinions that are borderline-cancellable if they speak them openly and often they skirt the lines around it.
Stuff that could get them accused of something but they just don't give a fuck.
Phase Connect is definitely an acquired taste, getting into it is very challenging, you will be filtered by the cringe and the fans autism.
But if you want a vtuber experience that's unlike everything else in the industry this might be for you.
