a huge amount of nijien discussion, and as a result the fanbase, is centered around social media. on social media, certain lobbies or groups have a lot of social sway, and when your business uses social media as a major form of advertising, getting the group with a lot of social capital angry at you can lead to disastrous results
like it or not, the progressive or "woke" lobby (whatever you want to call them) has a TON of social capital, and angering them carries a risk that whatever dumb joke you made is going to set them on you, and that's bad for business.
i'm not saying that she SHOULD be cancelled or graduated or whatever, but I'm saying that it was so stupid that it COULD absolutely result in that.
