>>36153631I tried to stay optimistic about all the HolostarsEN stuff, but as it inevitably turns out, the doomsayers were right. Decreasing quality of everything they are involved in, slowly corroding the branch into modern e-celeb twitch culture vtubing, where no one gives a shit about kayfabe and everything else that got vtubing popular in the first place. And the decreasing viewership of the stuff they are involved in speaks volumes, because as much as the people on here and in other places try to hype them up and talk everyone else down, they often don't even watch their stuff themselves.
People act like it's all extremes with "REE MUH UNICORNS! REE MUH PARASOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS!!!", but in the end it's just preferences and the standard is much lower. Like, If you were to watch a anime about cute girls doing cute things and halfway trough the second season it somehow turns into a netflix adaptation of itself, would you keep watching? The disappointing thing is, that the people who keep forcing Hololive out of its niche for vague morality or wanting their basic ass taste pandered to, don't even realize that there is sea of content for them available already (even in vtuber form), that they don't care about themselves, because it's just that bland and unoriginal and yet they try to get more of that again. And by the end of it, HoloEN will just be another slew of regular nothing streamers next to the millions of other regular nothing streamers, just with anime avatars draped over.
It's sad.
