>>36223794>I think VRChat stuff can still be good, but it needs to have a purposeThis. VRchat streams should be reserved for things that could only be done in 3D, otherwise there's no point to it and not much advantages over collabing via simple&clean regular live2D (which has less "scuff" technical issues that often waste time, and better audio quality for example, etc.).
For example, if the answer to the question "do I absolutely NEED my movements visible in this stream?" is not an unequivocal yes, then you don't really need 3D for it (you can still have it, sure, it's not like I can forbid you, I'll just care less about the 3D anyways if you're going to devalue it). The 3D dance lesson streams are a good example where 3D is obviously needed and served a useful purpose. Some other streams, where there was no real necessary need for being in 3D and they basically just faffed around with some stupid props but the basic concept could've just as well be done in 2D, are examples where it's probably not needed.
I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but for example the Pomutori stream was one where I feel 3D was not really needed and could've been done just as well, if not better, in regular 2D. The only upside for me was that yeah seeing some of their body language interactions (as much as got through the badly-tracked chibi models) was cute, but other than that there were more detriments. It's harder to set up, there's ALWAYS going to be "scuff" and time wasted on technical issues, the camera angles are annoying, the audio quality is subpar, etc. The pure talking segments could've been done with just their 2D avatars, would've made no difference. I didn't care much for the showing each other their 3D worlds part and found it pretty boring, and the karaoke part could've been done just as well in 2D (and would've probably been better, again, less scuff).
