>>36603610When I first saw a stream with these girls I found something initially off putting and it was only when I actually thought about it carefully did I understand what that was:
These two are the first vtubers where I actually felt like they were actual interactive anime characters rather than a streamer with some degree greater or lesser degree of animu larp.
The way they spoke (cadence), their content, the filler noises they voiced all made it feel like they were believably characters straight out of a visual novel but animated in real time.
That's kind of amazing actually.
So say there's the scale from low effort bandwagoneer twitch EN thot that's adopted an anime-esque avatar, all the way up to your standard holo or niji chuuba who has a character, maintains it but the mask slips occasionally when they want it to but you can nevertheless maintain you suspension of disbelief which you can't with the first group mentioned. The there's your traditional vtubers like Kizuna Ai, Akari Mirai, Tokino Sora etc., who are so committed to their characters that the mask never slips, and then there's these girls who maintain the character and sound like characters all the time, at least all the times I watched them.
That's quite a feat and likely incredibly tiring to maintain that performance for hours at a time.
I really hope they resurface as they really have talent and it makes me curious as to how they would be when they're not cemented to a specific kayfabe mandated by the parameters of an existing work.
