The problem with the nijisanji got the topic because it was popular at the time before hololive was even a thing is wrong because the nijisanji topic was created in 2021. You can't argue that there they both got the same amount of curation in the topics front since its a fact that they did not.

We know that people in twitter were accepting payment for things like blue checkmarks. We also know that the topic creation process was handled by a guy whitelisting topics. I don't know if I'm fucking dumb but I never had massive amounts of Niji stuff on my feeds. I use Twitter primarily to follow artists for fan arts and hentai, and I can confidently say that I've seen more Holo related stuff in a day than I have seen Niji's for a year.
For the record, I don't follow a single streamer from both companies. Purely just artists and JAV posters.

What more likely happens is the fact that nijisanji members are much more ONLINE than holos are and their fans are as well. Meanwhile holos aren't nearly as active on twitter and their fans relegate their posts to broadly titled fanart tags often with no caption. Meanwhile when a big event happens with hololive easily takes over the trending tab while Nijisanji doesn't get that AS often(though sometimes Luxiem fans get their guys trending, which lines up with women obsessed with male content creators). Also, the notion that twitter suppresses most vtubers is kinda bullshit because I get recommended posts from random 2views all the fucking time with a virtual youtubers topic pushing them. I genuinely think anyone who assumed this before hand and notices some kind of change with vtubers in particular likely just have confirmation bias, rather than the notion being based in reality.
