>Vestia Zeta, your typical quiet and aloof girl. Axel Syrios, your typical loud, over-ambitious guy. They seem so mismatched, like if they were inlove it would be too messy to handle.
>Well, messy or not, they were falling more and more for eachother every day. No matter the denial, they just had to figure this out themselves...
>“So.” Dezmond speaks, smirking as he glares at an angered Axel. Here we go again. “You agree to do it? Altare will be upset if not, you know, Axel.” He chuckled, almost menacingly, as Axel's eyes darted towards Altare. His eyes were sparkling with built up tears.
>Although Altare meant a lot to him, Axel just couldn't! Some of Dez's ideas were overboard, but sometimes Altare's could get even worse. And because of his prideful attitude, Axel was always the dilemma and the main focus of all of these plans.
>“I- I can't!“ Axel proclaimed, making a noise and attracting some nearby attention. Dezmond sighed, disappointed, and Altare continued with his sad act, which was now undeniably real. Axel felt bad, but what could he do!? This was manic!
>Dez and Altare both walked off, facing completely away from Axel. “Wait!“ Axel attempted to call out for them, but was left in failure.
>Zeta sat in the corner, leaning against it like it was the comfiest pillow to ever be created. She had witnessed everything through a quiet gaze, feeling sympathy for Axel, almost. Even if the guy annoyed her, she knew how bad Dez and Altare's ideas could be, and how hard they could be to pull off.
>The girl stood up and brushed her dress off from any dust collected from the floor. She held her gaming device in one hand and walked behind a mopey Axel.
>“Maybe you should do it.” She spoke, quietly. Axel jumped and screamed. “AGHHH-“ He then paused as he looked behind him, only to be gazed at grumpily by Zeta. “-Ahem! Sorry about that, Catto-san! What did you say?“ He grinned, putting his hands on his hips as if he hadn't just been upset a second ago.
>“I said: maybe you should do it.“ She huffed ever so slightly, not liking to repeat herself. Axel's face fell. “No way!“ He grabbed the sleeve of Zeta's cardigan and felt the soft material. Now he understood why Zeta wore this so much. “Come on, Zeta! You've seen how fucked up they both are! They're practically setting me up for my demise just for entertainment!“ Axel almost couldn't believe what came out of his mouth since entertaining others was his goal. But Zeta supposed he had a point.
>Zeta didn’t respond, she just sighed and manoeuvred around him, walking off as the sun set.
>Axel panicked and quickly grabbed her hand, just as soft as her cardigan. “Wait! Can I walk you home!?“ He held on to her hand lightly, his arm dragging along to stay in pace with her ahead.
>Zeta stopped in her tracks as she turned around. Her gaze immediately went to their hands. Her heart raced at the sight of their fingers almost intertwined, but not. Like it was forbidden. “What..?“ No one had ever held her hand like this before. The slightest touch meant something to her. But this could't be right. She just wasn't used to physical touch. It wasn't Axel, it was the feel. She thought she better not get ahead of herself.
>“Oh. Um, I guess so.” She muttered, catching her breath slightly as she had forgotten to breathe for a short period of time.
>And so, they did. They walked back to Zeta's house together. They never had let go of eachothers hands. They didn't want to, but neither of them knew why.
>When they reached Zeta's house, Axel took a deep breath and let his fingers drift away from Zeta's grasp. “Uh- I'm glad you're home safe!” He smiled, a bit less loud than usual for whatever reason. He buried his hands in his sleeves and looked at Zeta. She looked really pretty under a night sky. Why had he never noticed this before?
>“Yeah.” She spoke, letting a moment pass, but there was never an ounce of awkwardness within these passings. A sense of safeness was prominent, instead.
>Zeta looked to Axel, and their eye contact lingered. Zeta felt her heart flutter. She felt a sudden urge, so she leaped forwards and wrapped her arms around Axel. He was so warm, much like his hands earlier. Why she did this? She couldn't answer, but it felt like if she didn't do it, something horrible would've happened, something cruel.
>Axel felt the girl hug him, and he took a few moments to process it before softly holding her back. The warmth of him balanced out the coldness of her.
>“Uh- Zeta?” He looked down to her after about 30 seconds. “You okay?“ He asked, muttering. Zeta noticed his sudden softness, and it was a safe sort of feeling. “Mhm.” She sighed and let go. “Goodnight, Axel.” She looked down and fiddled with her hands before turning around and disappearing into the night.
>Axel stood there in shock and disbelief, but he didn't have time to think, he had to get home. But she lingered on his mind just a while more.
