She's doing something called 人生縛り(Jinseishibari) or 人生プレイ(Jinsei Play). The term is used in JP for playing games as if they were roguelikes; they apply permadeath rules to a game without it.
She's not doing a nuzlocke and has never claimed to be doing a nuzlocke. This is why she doesn't follow any first-encounter catch rules in any of her pokemon playthroughs.
This applies to the other JP girls as well. I don't quite know exactly why it had somehow turned into the JP girls doing a 'nuzlocke'. Maybe because nuzlocke has permadeath as well and clippers thought it was the easiest way to translate it. It could also be caused by the EN branch claiming they were doing nuzlockes but not applying first encounter catch rules and the fanbase assuming the JPs are doing the same.
