You should because Indonesia now is not the same as Indonesia decades ago. Back then we used up our resources to hold the country together while you guys can spent it all on building the country. But now since around 10 years ago we are stable enough and can build. You should listen to what SG foreign minister (forget who) said "I didn't expect Indonesia is able to build this fast and successfully, their airports are now better than most in the US".
LKY also said that Indonesia can progress but it would take a long time, that was in 2010. And yes nothing ever seemed to get done back then. Had he still alive I bet he would be surprised too.
