In a few days I'll be 5 years clean of opiates. First couple of years were a mess of weed and alcohol to numb the cravings and I'm amazed I didn't relapse, then I discovered vtubers. Despite having never cared for flesh streamers the cute anime girls managed to entertain me so I gave learning Japanese another go and actually started seeing progress. This lead to me actually wanting to be sober for the first time in over 10 years so I could pay attention to streams and do my reps, I'm pretty much drug free these days and any cravings for opiates are gone. In a way I've probably just swapped one addiction for another but at least this one isn't likely to kill me and I don't feel like I'm just just wasting time until I die anymore. I truly love this hobby and all the cute Japanese girls I've found in it for dragging me out of that hell.

I find vtubers that do ASMR or explicit GFE gross and their value as entertainers less than their counterparts. It's one thing for talent and audience to grow closer to each other and having weird emotions (mostly from the side of the audience), but encouraging and monetizing that is just prostitution with extra steps. If you lean into doing such content, you're admitting you're not good enough as an entertainer.

Marine's a weird case because she could very well cut it without the horny aspect, yet she insists on playing into the narrative, hence my opinion on her is lowered despite knowing fully well how much her presence improves Hololive.
