>>38383339>what dumbass sponsor is going to 2ch/4chan for legitimate info on talents and corporationsThe kind that is competent and doesn't rely on meaningless fluff pieces and easily manipulated data. Any company, sponsor or genuinely interested party would spend a considerable amount of time lurking this shithole to learn what the actual, genuine sentiments are. Yes, we're up to our gills in bullshit, spam, SEA garbage and so on but by now anyone doing research on ANY topic on ANY board would have to have internal filters and ability to discern what is bullshit and what is genuine belief and/or fact. The difference between a pro and an amateur is seen in that. An amateur goes on twatter and reddit and concludes that Tempus is a great idea, a pro buckles the fuck down and dives into this torrent of shit but ends up with a nugget of gold that tells him Tempus destroys the brand, the branch, and multiple once-idols in one swoop.
Cover and Anycolor seem frightened, defensive and totally out of touch. This is no secret. They're trying to make their vtubers into those Japanese style celebrities who are famous because they are famous but have no substance to back it up. Hollow idols. Mass appeal, kinda like those shitty capeshit movies. This move of theirs has fuck all with preventing actual doxing, actual dangers or threats, but it has everything to do with controlling the narrative and preventing any sort of criticism towards the talents even when their RM and IRL identity isn't even mentioned or talked about.
Simply said they want to prevent people from criticizing their chuubas, but hide it behind terms like slander etc. This will have devastating consequences for THEM, because once you stop people from actually discussing something openly they'll just leave. If you can't criticize Mori as Mori, Ame as Ame or X as X - you no longer have an audience. I agree that doxxers and genuine stalkers etc. should be taken care of, but I'm not going to pretend that this is the intent behind this statement or "unity."
