Torturing animals isn't normal, I grew up in the countryside and I'm as autistic as they come and I never would have hurt an animal at any age and never did (outside of hunting and slaughtering livestock which is different)

neglecting a bird is parents fault, what normal parents leave a 10 years old to take care of a parrot, the parrot was clearly sick - has nothing to do with video games, and parents shouldve taken it to the vet.

the other in the list was a frog that was found dead (she didnt hurt it) and a pony that broke a leg because her parents placed her on it as a toddler (how is that her fault?)

I know, I have parrots and I would never blame a 10 years old for not taking care properly of a parrot. its one of the hardest animals to take care of (and I have both dogs and cats), and you simply not leave it with a 9-10 years old. Also her parents couldve seen the self plucking and try to take it to the vet before it got worse, they clearly didnt give a fuck.

i'm autistic & i tortured an animal once as a kid, not on purpose though. it was this one baby chick and i really, really adored baby chicks back then, they're cute as hell. so as i was playing around with this one (nothing harsh nor weird just holding & petting it) and it keeps chirping nonstop for obvious reasons but me being a dum kid thought it must be thirsty on a hot day or something, so i dunked it into a bucket of water to make it drink, but the chirping didn't stop. so i thought "hmm maybe it's still thirsty" so i kept dunking it over & over and longer each time and yeh it finally stops chirping. cried like hell when i realized what happened & still feel guilty over it till this day though. i love baby chicks man

yeh i'm a bit silly i know, there was also this one occasion where one of my grown chicken got ran over by some motorcyle rider and one of my neighbor who saw it happened took it and bring it to me to let me know. told me to just bury the poor bastard. it's not dead yet but it's dying, broke its neck i think. so i spent hours on the side of the road near my house sobbing desperately trying to treat it by rubbing some of my grandma's healing oil to no avail obviously, but then one of my folk came outside and saw what i was doing and said "kid that's fucking pointless. chicken's too far gone. but since its still breathing and isn't a carcass yet how about you give it to me and i'll cook up some meal for you?" looked at them with teary eyes looking pathetic as hell and said "mkay!" long story short i ate a pretty decent fried chicken that afternoon. don't know if it was just my imagination but there was still a hint of healing oil if i recall. anyway these all are pretty rare occasions, okay? i took care a lot of animals as a kid. still do to this day. maybe with a bit more caution & less seeing them breathing toys though
