Cover settled on five members per gen because when they originally planned Gen 1, the Hitomi Chris incident made them decide that six per gen was too many to check for potential yabs.
I crunched some numbers out of boredom. I assumed that for each gen in JP that debuts, each girl has about a 20% chance of leaving in an untimely manner (in other words, because of a yab). Assuming Laplus is on her way out, that gives us a rate of about 33% that a new gen doesn’t have any of the girls leave due to a yab…so, two out of the six gens. Pretty perfect.
But if you reduce the number of debuts to four a gen, the chances one of them is going to have a yab is still about 58%. So not that much of a decrease from 67%. I probably fucked up the math somewhere, but on the off-chance that you’re serious, it’s probably not worth it, OP.
