If they just stay true to themselves the right audience will stay. Can't expect to please everyone, but at the very least you'd have a community of your own that will be there to watch you. I can't really accurately specify the ways, but the overall gist behind it is that; they should be someone who has passion towards entertainment, wether you believe it or not the audience can feel if someone is genuinely having fun making stuff for the audience, being genuine about it is pretty much also the factor that'll differentiate streamers who burns out 6months later and the ones who keeps at it for years.

It's like asking what's the number 1 quality a baseball player should have. There's different qualities for different positions. There are those whose oshis can't sing the right note to save their lives but have popular karaoke. Even if you divide the audience up, just taking the ojisan crowd for example, you have those who prefer genki girls to comfy girls and vice-versa. Some people like sluts, some people like seiso, some people like GFE while others prefer daughter simulators. It's a broad field that caters to many tastes, I think the only thing that no one likes is a chuuba who stares silently at the screen while grinding through a game and not interacting with anyone. And for all I know there's an audience for that out there somewhere. For me, the most important quality is that they get enough healthy sleep.

Different chuubas can shine with different qualities. Like another anon said, there's an audience for practically anything. The only quality which is really indispensable regardless of the type of chuuba they are is loyalty to their audience. You could also call it respect, gratitude or even professionalism. Just generally being a decent person and not letting the praise and attention get to your head. Also, you NEED thick skin to deal with the anti audience.
