Why are het ships so taboo, or at least unpopular? Even in NijiEN, where the guys and girls mingle constantly so you would think unicorns would run away. Is it the insane fujos shutting it down and harassing people that like to ship boys with girls? It's either yuri or yaoi and that's it. Why is this? Is it a carry over from japanese culture? I feel like you don't see this in the west quite as much.

I'm a guy, and sure I like certain yuri ships a lot, but I can't help but think it's cute when a female chuuba and a male one have good chemistry and banter. Is it me? Am I the weird one?
