Imagine some 60-80 year old greybeard deciding to try out vtubing, putting on some sort of dwarf avatar and starting to stream, playing boomer games and telling stories.

Would he be popular? Would (You) watch him? Or maybe such "chuuba" already exists?

It depends entirely on the model. Not only does it have to look good but it has to match the voice and personality too.
A "dwarf" design would be hard to pull off for anybody that isn't corpo

One of the biggest tragedies in the entire company and practically the opposite of what happened to IRyS where everyone agrees her new look is just a fantastic upgrade more than a full redesign. What in the actual FUCK is wrong with Aruran? IRL midlife crisis where he feels like he's too old to be hanging out with younger guys? What the fuck, man. His older guy design was so refreshing to see and now he's forgettable as fuck.

He had a diehard fanbase that was big for a homoJP prior to tempus. Afterwards he lost nearly half of them from the change (albeit over time since the change in model was spoken about for a while).
The reason he wanted it was because he had a genuine complex about appearing old compared to other homos

The problem is zoomers wouldn't want to watch someone they can't fap to.

Choueki Tarou is in his 50s, I think pushing 60 at this point. He's also an ex-con but has better work ethic and consistency than most Vtubers. Been around since before stream-type chuubas took off and is still active.

The thing that really makes me mad about this is how he treated his fanbase after his redesign, he basically just said “Get used to it, this shouldn’t be shocking.” Even the highest tier membership people got surprised by this redesign, why on Earth did he think it was a good idea to have his lore locked behind the highest tier?
