>>39207870>>39208581There's a reason why they contractually retain the right to the characters. Nobody sane would actually mind if they recasted VAs to voice graduated characters in a movie, or had them appear in manga or something post-grad.
The backlash would only come from trying to recast a Vtuber who is going to be actively streaming, because it destroys the relationship and history they build with their audience.
And yes the main reason we aren't getting big multimedia projects from Hololive/Niji is because of upd8's retarded handling of Kizuna that gave the other companies cold feet. (Despite people to this day trying to claim upd8 never did that. People weren't even mad until they tried to lie and gaslight about it)
