Well, permissions are a bitch to deal with.
You now have to deal with the expectations of both your company (which is soon to go public apparently) and your fans.
Oh and now your success will be inevitably compared to all the other corpo chuubas, and you might not even be able to collab with old friends in the indie scene so prepare to feel isolated and miniscule if you don't make friends in Hololive. You need to have experience in streaming, so make sure to do that.
Also, the most important one, Hololive are not explicitly hiring new talent at the moment, or at least, no female talent.

I am not saying it's easy to get there by any means, but you have a lot of non-serious irregular streamers, not all of them a vtubers. Treat the growth of your audience as a matter of time and consistency. But you got to do it for a year or more, realistically speaking.

I'd say don't go for Hololive if you're not willing to put in a shit ton of effort and being constantly under stress while trying to keep yourself sane. They treat it as an actual job offer when you apply so don't cry if you get rejected. If you still want to join there no matter what it takes, then take it seriously and focus on what you should do to get accepted.
Otherwise, just keep being indie for a while and if you're comfortable and confident in what you're doing, you could go for some smaller corpos that almost no one knows and graduate within a year but be careful about some of them, there are scammers out there so do your research beforehand

There are two ways into Hololive.

A/ through the standard application process made by staff who have to process hundreds of literal whos
B/ Nepotism hire ala Ina and Sana. The difference being Kiara actually gives a shit about the company. She is most likely the most trusted by management talent in EN right now.

You want Hololive this badly? Then casting couched by Kiara is the fastest way to it. If you want to chase your dream you have to dare to try.

Permissions hell and a shitload of red tape. The concern at HoloEN seems to be to preserve their increasingly tenuous lead and not to advance vtubing as a whole. So limits on who you can collab with (no random 2/3views).
Overall, it just seems shitty and not worth it to me unless you’re only doing it for the money. And I don’t think you are doing it for the money, which is why im saying this.
Basically, from a viewer’s perspective, it sure looks like being in HoloEN is a case of golden handcuffs. I don’t know if that’s as apparent to an indie, but it seems like working for HoloEN sucks the joy out of vtubing.

I'm not sure if this happens on the EN side of things but Japan there have been cases of "agencies" hiring talent with predentary contacts, giving them equipment/model for streaming, and making them pay the price of equipment, rigging, assets, and the model back at a huge markup.

I'm not sure the whole suck up to Kiara plan is plausible but do your best OP! Someone has to make it. Cover isn't growing talents in test tubes in a Japanese basement.
What sucks is most of my arts are done offline so even though I'm very experienced I don't have an online history. Hamstrung by things I can't do anything about.

The only innate skill / thing you need to have is a good sounding voice.

You can improve your skill as a streamer all you want, but if you don't have a unique, nice sounding voice then they will probably never hire you.

This advice mostly just applies if youre male. If youre female, you can get by with a less than great sounding voice.
