I agree though, Cover has a lot of issues but lack of ambition definitely isn't one of them. It would've been easy to just make some random gacha in a few months and make easy money out of it, but they didn't.
I'm just not a big fan of the survival thing since it feels a bit out of place in the whole HoloAlt world they're trying to create... a regular RPG-style game would honestly feel much more natural.
Also, making a survival game is fucking HARD. There's so many game companies that tried (and failed) to make one or are stuck in eternal beta/early access, and Cover's development team clearly lack the experience needed for that kind of game.
However, I'm big fan of the shared virtual concert space, there's A LOT of potential in there.
Imagine being able to rewatch concerts on your own or with friends in private rooms...
