In Lumi's case this is unfair. Her old model was just as sexy, only the veiface is the problem.

Looking at it more closelt, the thing that makes her so unrecognizeable is the eyes angle. They belong to two different character archetypes. The new Lumi looks more bratty/aggressive because of the eye angle. Plus the stupid fangs.

I only watched a little bit so I didn't know that, but the fact she is blatantly saying that she likes the model most when it looks more like Veibae really funny.

But it is a smart move to copy Vshojo. As popular as edgy vtubers (Pippa) are, they still cannot compete with coomerbait like Veibae and Shylily lol. Lumi is making a good move in terms of growing her audience.

Shylily succeeded because she was in the right place at the right time, which was Veibae's multiple fallouts. She basically copied her content and managed to be better than the original.
But you know what content it is.
The issue is that Lumi's current audience is the polar opposite of VShojo audience.
It's either a complete replacement or Lumigumis are all yesmen, something old Lumi truly despised.

I meant earlier, much earlier, the idea supposedly came out back in 2021 when she was still below average 300 ccv and still in CyberLive. With the end of summer most of her streams were 800+ CCV and very often breaking the 4view barrier. The official announcement of the redesign was done at her Phase Redebut and that was mid-April. From now on she only grew larger but without major breakthroughs until mid-summer and her strategy games binge.
It wasn't "forever", but that doesn't matter, because she wanted to do that anyway.
The only positive I can hope for is that Lumi will become a role model for /asp/ies and with her, Dutch Nina, Miia, Moon Jelly, Peari, Moona and Clio more girls will try their best at strategy games.
