Copypasting my opinion from the Phase thread
>Tl;dr version - the best thing about the new model is that it looks a lot like her old one.
>There is something wrong with the mouth. It's either too small or too high up. I saw some other Anon mentioned this as well. This arguably slight problem is actually a big one for me because I can't unsee it, and it makes the whole face look ridiculous like some sort of edit. It looks goofy.
>The fangs baffle me. While arguably cute they make zero sense given her lore. I just don't understand, and with the above mentioned mouth issue that's everything I tend to see.
>Her face is too sharp and makes her look like an (actual) predator. Think wolf or some canine. The issue here is that her features are striking because of the usage of color. The yellow/black combo is striking, but when you add the fangs, the pupils of her eyes and the sharp eyebrows it just looks sharp, predatory, masculine. Unintentionally threatening, which makes it hard to negotiate her actual demeanor and speech with the face. Not uncanny valley, but something in that vein.
>Dark Lumi looks good, but here I am utterly lost. That simply isn't Lumi. That is an entirely different person and vtuber, would watch her, but I have no idea what her thought process was here. I am assuming she has plans for specific streams or content, but to me it has no relations to Lumi. The model and all is good in this case but it has nothing to do with Lumi.
>Her tits are ridiculously huge and bigger than they were, and as usual look like a caricature. This is typical for Asian designers.
>In essence this design is salvageable because it can be made to resemble her good model. The face needs to be softer and more feminine, fix the mouth, get rid of the fangs and then it'll look okayish. This is a better situation than the atrocity that Yuri became, because there's no saving that mess. In the end I never deviated from my opinion and conviction - all redesigns are always for the worse, always unnecessary, always forced, and always overdesigned, gaudy and too complicated, gimmicky or colorful. They all follow the Chinese school of design which is about opulence, richness, bright colors, ornaments and complexity. In other words the Chinese love clowns. All initial designs are the good ones, because they are more Japanese and embrace minimalism and simple memorability. The problem is that Western women themselves see this beautiful aesthetic as a problem and just don't get it, so you get stuff like nuYuri, or that loli-to-bloated tits girl that gets posted. Traditional Chinese aesthetic IS gacha aesthetic, and to me that just looks clownish or Indian. Even French, if I want to be mean. It's just ugly, and sadly since all the riggers and so on today seem to be from Taiwan we'll get to see more clowns and circuses in the future. The end result for Lumi will be the same one I experienced with Yuri. I just start watching them less and less, because the effect of redesigns is like coming home one day and suddenly your mother, gf, or wife has fish lips and balloon tits and you don't know what to say, and it's awkward so you just start spending more time at work.
>All redesigns are always bad. Simplicity is king. Minimalism is king. Never change or fuck with your original model unless things are catastrophic. In no case I've seen was this true. Change is always for the worse. Have your model, love your model, give it life, make it yours forever. Fuck change. Unless you switch corpos or redebut as an entirely different chuuba there is no excuse that justifies changing your model, or wasting money on it.
