The goal here is to let someone else make your character, not to get free art for your super speshul OC donut steel. (You) could do that yourself anyway. Also, by forcing yourself into someone else's role, (You) get to focus on how to be a good streamer, how to act etc. etc. instead of just having an avatar to reflect your own angst.

That thread seems to be about making nice artwork from existing concepts (especially major corpo chuubas). It's still intended /here/ that people will clean up artwork; try to get multiple takes on the same, new concept; and brainstorm about the expected personality details. That said, their OP has a ton of useful resources that I'm too lazy to copypasta.
