>>3988510This. As soon as they debuted, the main branch and Holostars were forbidden to mention each other on stream and on Twitter for over 6 months. After that ban was lifted, only 4 of the JP girls have collabed with the homos (5 if you count AZKi), and only FBK still regularly collabs with one of them to this day. So they barely get boosted from collabs, and not many Hololive fans would be interested in the homos to begin with as the fanbase is mostly male. It'd be more accurate to say some Hololive fans know Holostars exists, but don't care about them. I don't count the ID girls and the Mori collab because most EOPs won't bother watching streams in a language they don't understand
In the first place, Hololive popularity comes from luck, the stars aligned just right for them. .Live crashed and their fans came to the Holos, their partnership with Bilibili gave them many English clips translated from Chinese as well as the Azur Lane collab, they forged good relations with the leaders in the industry (the Big Four and Nijisanji), and got an English speaker (Coco) when they started to become bigger overseas. These events can't be repeated for Holostars, unless Cover gets them a partnership with an otome game (unlikely) and hires an English speaker for gen 4, which still won't boost them locally
