There were no Holostars on the Hololive HoloExpo stream. They had their own feed on the Holostars channel during their portion, and the drop was closer to 70% if you compare the average viewership of both streams. This time they'll actually be on Hololive's channel and I doubt there won't be a drop during the collab part, but considering they'll perform together with Hololive members (Fubuki, Matsuri, AZKi, Sora and Suisei) it might not be as drastic as it was during the Expo, but who knows.

Yes they do, for 3 songs. Its highlighted in the schedule btw.

That's not the problem. The problem is the Stars taking up slots for the girls. Look at how many times the Stars perform in their part of the countdown while most of the girls only get to sing 1 song. This kind of favorable treatment is why some people get fed up with this unity thing that Cover is trying to pull.

Shoving HoloPro bullshit in the New Years countdown live makes absolute no sense because the Hololive fanbase doesn't want it and the Stars one doesn't care about it, so the only people they're pandering are the beggars that are almost all foreign fans who won't be nowhere close the biggest viewerbase from those streams.

It's going to be prerecorded right considering the lineup includes people not in Japan? Having a hard time seething about this because the only girls performing with the stars have done it before already. It is a series of prerecorded songs,not them all in a studio together singing live.

Yeah that makes sense, well at least you can trust the Japanese fanbase to actually make a statement that they don't want holostars in hololive events, I expect they will tune out of the stream and send angry messages to management. I am not sure why they would try to force in on the JP side when it even caused drama on the EN side this year and as an audience we accept this stuff far more willingly (or just roll over and take it)

I can understand the push for unity in EN because it's a different group, even if I don't agree with it, but the JP branches were historically separated and even during HoloExpo they didn't share the same stream, so I really don't understand what Cover is trying to achieve here.

It's a long stream with multiple segments, just like the last few years. IRyS and Bae will have a segment, and then there will be a concert with all of JP, Myth, and ID1. There will also be a separate JP Stars concert stream.

Define noticable. The whole discussion is around wrong example, since there's something that acts as better one. Holopro 5th anniversary.
During HoloJP they had 64k peak.
HoloEN and ID parts had initial drop that might be some part due youtube bug, but they managed to go back to 60k.
Then Holostars part started. The numbers didn't drop instantly. They were dropping for a whole rest of stream reaching the low of 47k.
Now the thing with songs is that they are kinda put in middle, so people instead of closing stream might just mute it or something.

Even if it was definitely pushed by management there's a huge difference between that and shoving Holostars into a Hololive stream and vice-versa. As it has been discussed in this thread both fanbases would much prefer that those 3 song slots were used for the respective branches and not on a cheap attempt to make HoloPro a thing when it'll never be anything other than the name of the agency Cover owns. Do you like LivexStars collabs? That's absolutely fine, but let those be completely divorced from stuff like this.
