The rushing and hurrying part is definitely felt, agreed. In the quoted conversation we can see the hurry in Kiara, although she tried to laugh it off. Pekora handled it pretty well.
Pekora was trying to gauge Kiara's interest by dangling the thread about Shikemura to her, to maybe talk about the village itself, visit it, or talk about Miko senpai.
But Kiara found a way to make that about Pekora as well.
When she brought out the sword (jokingly) I could tell that Pekora was a bit frustrated that she wasn't talking about anything other than Peko herself or how Kiara watched something from her.
