who wants this

out of the 170k+ people watching the hololive new years stream, what percentage of people do you think actually wanted holostars there? i'd guess maybe 5-10 percent at an absolute maximum.

which raises the question... why involve them at all? to promote them? cause I'm pretty sure the average hololive fan is well aware of holostars and just doesn't want to watch them. hololive became popular as a group of female idol vtubers, therefore the people who watch hololive want to see more female idol vtubers... not a bunch of dudes... which is why cover has been promoting holostars to hell and back to no avail, because the people they are marketing to are specifically there for the girls, not just vtubers in general... if anything, including stars in events like this only spurs on the anti's and creates new ones which is bad for holostars as a whole... theoretically, promoting your less popular group using the more popular group is smart... but in execution it's pretty stupid and will likely only hurt holostars in the long run by turning more hololive fans into holostars haters while not actually accomplishing much in terms of growing holostars
