If anything we're seeing another revolution, where the two big players and Hololive especially are filtering themselves out of the game via bad decisions and being out of touch. This is making the scene a lot more heterogeneous in terms of style and content, and paradoxically companies like Idol and kawaii are more true to the idol spirit of vtubing than the Japanese. The future of vtubing is unironically bright, it just doesn't include Holo and Niji. It will be composed of small corpos and big indies, and nobody will be the dominant company. This will result in healthy competition and diverse schools of vtubing, with their own flavor, style and content. Essentially, the duopoly is dying and their death is evident in the fact they've become far too similar in content. This is entirely Hololive's fault. They fucked themselves into pieces.
