>>40397127Until Kobo blew up ID subsisted by cannibalizing either the jp or EN fanbase. ID1 was targeted at the JPs but didn't find success there, and instead the successful ones found EN audiences. ID2 chased EN audiences on the heels of Myth's success and were comfortably successful. ID3 continued the trend except for Kobo, who miraculously found the ID audience the rest had somehow failed to corner.
In the future they will likely try to replicate Kobo's success, but I don't doubt that during the auditions for ID1 being able to speak some japanese was a judgement criteria, and with ID2 and 3 being able to speak english was valued highly.
