The middle of the pack is usually more clustered and gets items that are a bit punishing for directly in their direct area, so it becomes a fight for the middle as the middle hit themselves, the back hits them too to try and catch up, with the front essentially only interrupted occasionally but not getting any amazing items, making it completely determined by their own skills.
