There's no way an actual AI came up with this on its own. Yes that is how chat bots work, off of prompts. The chat interaction the chat is the prompt and the bot works off that, in the "monologue" parts there is like a 1 sentence prompt and the the AI generates from that. All chat bots are like this.

you can count on more being made in the future, but again the skills it takes to make ml bots that play games, implement chatgpt with rigged model, do everything that goes with running the twitch channel---this is not easy by any means, few people have the skills but more importantly far fewer know about chuubas, and far, far fewer want to put in all that effort

I might be missing something, but I don't think the text model is open source. The repo on GH only contains the vision model for osu.

Then again, even if it was open source, who's to say he's running the same code. Open source does not imply transparency unless you're hosting an audited copy yourself.

It says stuff unprompted, but it'd be really really easily to program it to tell stories from prompts written by the programmer. Program it to reply to chat 95% of the time, else grab a prompt and generate a story with it. ChatGPT can generate stories very easily.

We have no idea what training data they used, CAI refuses to say. Regarding the war crimes thing, that's been a Pekora thing for at least a couple years now. It isn't actively searching the internet, it was provided a static (somewhat recent) snapshot and was trained on that. If something new happened today it wouldn't have any knowledge of it.
