>>40666465I’m trying to do as much good faith speculation as possible (as in, yeah, “they got lazy” might be part of it, but I want to think about this deeper). This is what I’ve got:
When HoloEN was fresh and new, things were exciting, there were lots of kino moments, and there was this feeling that there was more to come (stuff like 3D debuts, the girls dancing on stage next to their JP counterparts, etc). It was probably also easier to write off the logistical problems as Covid-related (not least the difficulty of getting into Japan).
Now, things are clearly stagnant except to the most desperate of copium huffers, plenty of viewers are antsy about the stagnation but staying quiet (except on /here/), and there’s probably a chicken and egg problem in which Cover doesn’t want to invest further in HoloEN because it’s not growing, but it’s not growing because there’s not enough resources to change things up and make them exciting (since Cover wants to spend money on making Tempus a thing instead).
I wouldn’t be surprised if, say, Ame got burned out because she’s had to cobble together shit to make up for the lack of resources from JP. Except now, no matter what she does, all everyone notices is the lack of official resources.
To some extent, the main motivation to stream for EN is to stem the bleeding, not to work up towards something more exciting. If I wanted to make up more rrats, I’d say that none of the girls were super excited for Tempus, they just huffed copium that it would be a vaguely acceptable temporary substitute for EN3 and at least be better than the status quo…only for that to prove wrong.
So, yeah. Having made enough already, perms autism and management incompetence, and having nothing positive to motivate them would be my guess. “They’re just lazy” feels too trite to me given how Myth actually gave a shit in their first year. Council was a lot iffier, but Kronii and Sana were the only ones whose lack of streams were truly egregious.
