If I had to speculate, a combination of “HoloEN hasn’t panned out even remotely like I expected” with “even if I did bother trying to stream again, can I trust myself to not get burned out a month later?” and “Is there some way for me to actually get what I wanted out of vtubing if even THE corpo for idolshit won’t bite?”
If I had more hopium, I’d almost suspect that Gura has at least thought about defecting to a small corpo once or twice before reminding herself of the mountain of risks that entails. I’m sure she’s not going to, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the thought’s popped up in her head at some point.
