>>40800500>>40800865>>40855174To be fair, there is quite a bit of risk associated with streaming as a long-term career prospect. Among JP/KR/CN parents, the classic concept of the "stable" career is a huge focus in terms of projecting earnings out 10-20 years. While streaming can certainly make good income (moreso Bae in Holo, versus Miori still being a mostly 3view indie who has mentioned her subcount was largely padded by Shorts-only viewers that dont watch streams), it really depends on how high that income gets in terms of abandoning a stable 6 digit salary post-med school.
While we've seen some top Holo JPs show tax returns that indicate million dollar salaries, as Fauna mentioned, Holo EN still isn't making them millionaires overnight. Assuming even something like 200k-300k a year, that still isn't quite "retire before 30" type of money. Even with Mio being an indie with minimal costs (compared to the huge percentage a corp like Holo would take), it is definitely a hard sell to go all-in on a fickle career rather than go with the classic "wageslave for 30 years" perspective.
For reference, in somewhat similar settings, Asian parents are generally hesitant to endorse making a risky 400-500k/year versus a stable 100-150k finance/coding/engineering career, just given longevity of a 20-30 year slow growth, versus a risky startup potentially going boom in 1-2 years. Takes a lot of time to convince parents that retiring pre-30 with a few million in cash is even an option compared to wageslaving for decades (which is a neverending trickle of income that does add up, despite how soul crushing it can be).

perhaps 6' non-SEA Asian/white, Ivy League education+"respectable career" in finance/law/medicine, 300k+ income, age <30? While certainly rare, Asian parents know these specs do exist, which they hunt relentlessly
