I've radically reduced my meat consumption to almost nothing before cause I have gout and eating meat really painful caused gout-flares.
The only thing that happened by cutting meat out of my diet was that lots of things were suddenly taboo and my diet became way less diverse and also less healthy.

Temporarily changing your eating habits isn't gonna fix anything long term.
You need to permanently change your eating habits for the better and that won't happen with something you would categorize as "hard to do".
If you don't see yourself doing keto for the rest of your life. If don't think you could do that or even if you think you wouldn't be happy doing that, then stop right now.
"This food is off limits" is also a terrible attitude to have towards food.
The true way to loose weight is what everyone already knows anyway. Less sugar, less highly processed food, more veggies and fruits, more protein, smaller overall calorie intake, move movement, less sitting at your pc all day. The hard part is actually doing that cause motivation/discipline is a limited resource.
