Let me once and for all kill all the excuses found in EN cope lists.
>EN is culled
Everyone is culled, there is no evidence that EN is culled more
>but the likes and polls are proportionally way more than JP
JOPs are more passive and some treat this like TV program instead of twitch streams with twitch chat. The engagement is generally lower on dynamic media for the JP side. Same with chat speed.
>but the VOD views
VOD views are affected by the number of VODS (i.e., the frequency of streams) on a channel. The less VODS there are on a channel, the more individual VOD views. Guess EN or JP has more VODS on their channel?
>the coof boosted their numbers, now that lockdown ended the views normalized
This is one of the cope that seem true at the surface but you would know it shouldn't be the case if you look into it. JP grows even after the coof, which means EN has the same chance to transition themselves out of the coof.
>but the west is different! They hate weeb stuff
Otaku culture, while big in Japan, is still a subculture in Japan and pretty much still is right now. Vtubers managed to get off the otaku stigma and went mainstream in Japan, with fleshstreamers and old school seiyuu collabing with holo and niji. It is certainly doable in the west, for vtubers to become mainstream, I mean.
>ok but the culture is really different!
Bold of you to assume that EN vtuber viewers are westerners. It is not up to a certain culture to accept you, but it is up to you to make that entire culture kneel to you.
>not enough EN streamers
This is real for Hololive, but a cope for nijiEN.
>not enough EN streamers fit the qualification for holoEN
It is the ultimate cope, which I even believe at one point. But if you look at the previous hires and the current active EN vtubers in the scene you would know it is not true.
They hired Kronii, which means they are ok with certain unsavory types of people to be on the team.
They hired Mumei and Fauna, which means they are also ok for people with a certain background to be on the team.
The new hires of other agencies are not worse, some of them are even better than what Council members are right now.
>ok, fine. English speaking viewers are generally not as interested in people larping as anime characters as the JOPs
It is not something fixed, but can be changed. What I want to emphasize in this post is that failure of EN is not due to external factors, but the talents and communities themselves.
TLDR Ain't reading all that shit, last samurai.
