>>4151221If we're just talking about the west, probably not. Male vtubers compete just fine with women in every region outside of English regions but at this point in time there's really no sign one can carve out a market.
>Male vtubers just aren't good enoughEvery time people say this they have some invisible abstract idea of what a male vtuber should be that no one ever holds female vtubers to when a ton of different kinds of women do fine even when they have some obvious weaknesses. It's basically statistically impossible at this point that there isn't some guy that'd fit some mold of what people would want.
>Regular male streamers are successfulActually an extremely small minority and a totally different market with different viewership. We know for a fact that just putting on a vtuber avatar debuffs a lot of popular dudes like Sykkuno or Connor.
>X male is successfulAlways an exception that proves the rule and usually a bad example even if it wasn't. Guys like Merryweather and Takahata101 have a huge amount of advantages that less than 1% of guys have going in and they still do worse than women with a way shittier start. We could just count those two for OP's criteria and they still fall behind a lot of women who come out of nowhere with clear flaws.
My only guess about why guys do bad is that people who watch vtubers don't actually want to watch guys and I doubt anything short of hololive taking a huge loss by producing a bunch of dudes instead of making five more profitable women could change that.
