>>41947069>Like, this thread has 158 unique posters in it, which is fucking nothing. Twitter barely talked about itOne, that doesn't account for lurkers
Two, twitter doesn't give a shit about millie in general, they don't even remember who that is
Three, in statistical averages, we call this weighting and upscaling.
If you have 158 different people giving an opinion, you can upscale this number to give you an idea about how people in general will feel about certain things.
Then you weight it against how much info the average person will understand about said thing.
This kind of statistical data collection is done at the political level to see whether or not people are likely to vote one way or another based on lack of information, being informed of said subject, and being specifically led on said subject to view it a certain way.
With /vt/, you can certainly say that users here will have a tendency to be led a certain way due to outrage mobs coloring decision making, but in general, the overall access to information that, for example, clip watchers would only be privy to, would show that there's a general correlation between /vt/ users having more information about said thing and viewing it unfavorably vs an uninformed viewer not having any opinion on it.
In this vacuum, you believe that uninformed viewers are the general consensus of the fanbases, but it is purely due to the lack of exposure to information that they have not properly formed an opinion on said them.
