Anonymous
>>42095407 Well I know with /wAIfu/ we use the glyphs and parchments. If I remember the /vtai/ entry well they use a monolith and a priest for the drawings. Though about /vAI/ and /swarm/... the AI voice thread could be about something like glyphs or special stones that people can make which replicate the voice of one of the goddesses, and then they can make that rune read whatever someone writes in the voice of said goddess. With /swarm/ it should be something like the other nations without much problem, right? Well, with the difference that its also an artificial goddess.
I was also thinking if I should consult with all four of the generals and see what they have to say, or just start writing myself, I also already wrote a small entry on /wAIfu/ lore though dunno if I should edit it or what.

That would also pair well with alot of the discussions they have about how neuro is essentially the perfect conceptual idea of a vtuber and her success could lead to a massive shift in the market.

>>42033296 I feel like my views mirror you both regarding the climate. It seems well thought out, and I personally like the idea of it being colder.
As for the islands, i am curious as to the logic of them overall and i enjoy the concept of them changing hands personally historically as making interesting lore. I would need to think more on how they work overall to give a total statement.
Also, lets test the island regional concept. Pick one from 3.0 and lets see what we all think.
Anonymous
Thanks for reminding me,Rosemaiden. Peninsular Bros, lets talk about the following>1. Our stance on cooler climate >2. Our stance on the 3.0 island conundrum. >3. More regional ideas for borders and history. V7 holds no real opinion on 3.0 islands, but we would agree with the consensus of our group. As for climate, both work for us as a thread but we personally support the newer model solely because I personally enjoy the changes worldwide. As for regional stuff, lets try to get a working timeline working for all of us and i suggest we work with our northern brothers neutral and south heavenly sea group. We can also consult west ailivia as well but I think their interests arent as focused on our region. A working timeline would be extremely nice and useful for all of us i believe.
Anonymous
>>42097897 Hello Zetabro, /ehe~/ has no opinion on the new climate model because we are unsure how it effects us given the proposed ID mountain range unless /mep/rep did climate work for us.
unless you have done it, we would like to see it. . Islands, from my own reps seems to be a good discussion but /ehe~/ as a naval and tradebased nation would like to have some islands to represent our influence outside of our region. I also sort of integrated V7 into my lore so maybe us personally can conclude a treaty.
Timeline is perfect, let's get to work on that now. I know Moonafic has a base idea along with elabro from my reps but I want it formalized and also want the others involved. History should be consistent at least on dates and I think since we are mostly ID3, we can figure out how we came to be. I know that I made it so that kobokers were invaders from the SEA, and I know /mhm/ has it more like a steady process from tribalism to Kingdom durign this period which could mean many things and I know its probably out of date too. I don't know V7, watamelon (aside from their mentions in /mhm/ and /dsw/) or Warkop (aside from mentions in /dsw/ and the clearly out of date /v7/ army lore) that well but DSW has something clear and present that is also concrete.
Let's try to start by first working with our northern brothers to get the dates correct. I still maintain 711 as the date of ID3's invasion for my nation, but V7 could be different as mhm is. We need important dates first, before working our way down. I think /mep/bro is mapanon for our region so he can even work on some maps that show how territory changed over time.
Either way, I am interested in hearing from elabro, and hopefully DSWanon and the warkop anons. Pray that watamelon can get involved too somehow, not to mention the two nijiJP writers, moonafic, and /mep/bro.

>>42105340 i wanna see if others might say something different but i feel overall we are in agreement for the cliamte stuff then, tho i still would likek to stress for other nations in other regionns to have the option to potenntially stay with their former cliamte if they desire because this is a huge change that comes very late after many have worked with the old model.
as for the islands, its about islands that are further away, to give an example picrel is an island that me and nasfaqronie proposed as a shared island for /vrt/ and /nasfaqg/,
on a meta level the reasonign was for /vrt/ to be closer to /ag/ and /hag/ which are threads our anons like a lot and for /nnasfaqg/ it was so they have an easier time to interact with the holonations further away from the mainland sicne they are a holocentric nation at heart.
for lore reasons it would have allowed us to showcase sides of our nations that might clash with the mainlands, for us for example it would have allowed to showcase parts of our thread that cares more about wealth since we have stuff liek the "retrofactor" which is a calculation to see how retro a streamer is based on their streamchoices as well as those that care for more selling of our crafts since we have plenty of people that shill certain games towards the thread and chuubas in the hopes that someone might pick them up and that is how i would have presented it.

Moonafic and OG, let's begin our regional discussion. My stance: 1. I approve of the Climate, it worked perfectly for me personally although I also appreciate that concerns others may have on it. 2. Islands are going to be a tricky issue because of how we each see our own nations thread wise. I suggest some caution with it, but also freedom. Overall, I think that history and lore should play a large part in it. 3. Border change. I think there was a minor adjustment with the Risu-Mep border agreed on, I will take a look at my map and see what it is exactly.

>>42131442 >>42131855 >>42132604 >>42163253 Tundra is a climate, not biome. Depending on the nature of the area, trees are doable. The area of /kr/ is flanked by the sea and there are some lukewarm currents there that i believe could be plausibly made a tad warmer. You'd still have a tundra climate, but it would be a mild one. Birch, willows, and some hardy rowans could survive and grow.
Especially so if you are willing to accept specbio. No need for it to be magical either, trees can be quite the adaptable and hardy bunch. Some birch can survive -45C winters just fine. Balsam fir has been shown to survive -60C in lab. So the cold itself isnt the issue, its the growing season, your trees would have to have some kind of a way to dig deep into frozen earth for them to gain nutrients. Symbiotic relationships with mushrooms could probably help a lot with this, many trees do that. Yes, the trees would still grow slower, but they would be trees, and their growth rate may affect their wood in interesting ways, perhaps it could be denser, harder, so on, idk.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>42173707 A bigger limiting factor of tree growth would be the length of warm season, since while trees can survive in pretty cold weather, they generally can't germinate (grow from seed) beneath 10 degrees Celsius. There are still ways for forests to expand (like basically through natural cloning), but they are rather slow and compounds on the generally slow growth of trees in 0~10 degree range.

In Mumei's country, the concept of civilization itself is represented by her, right? Since it's her lore and all.
Well in this land, the people are divided over whether civilization should be modern and urban, or traditional and rural
So you have an urban modern center with a wide open nomadic exterior over most of the country
As for Mumei herself I thought of her as a very apathetic leader. Someone who'd be content to let her subjects sort themselves out

>>42274230 Trying to go for a serious setting, sorry. That does sound about right for Pekora though. Carrots instead of swastikas? She probably has a hand in agricultural dominance.
There are seas. Marine's nation is actually right along the coast of the largest accessible sea in the setting to most. I saw her as the leader of a pirate republic ala the Bahamas to tell the truth. The captain of captains. Probably little infrastructure and lots of border raiding or excessive taxation among ships passing through waters
How would a pirate republic continue to exist without provoking war I wonder?

She could be so necessary that any infractions can go under the radar as long as they aren't too severe or damaging to any nations or economies so a little pirate raid here and there get swept under the rug.

I can also imagine a time or two in the past when piracy went too far and got squished, since Noel and Rushia are her biggest immediate neighbors. Rushia's lands getting purged probably emboldened her to be a bit more extortionist since the necromancer's passing removed a huge military power in the region

Hoomen, Saplings. Let's try this group discussion. 1. What do you guys think of the colder climate proposal? I personally have no worries either way since nothing really changes for me but I am more concerned that both of you like it. Saplings in particular. 2. The islands as Retro has described. I have a feeling that neither of you particularly care but I do, but am waiting to hear from other groups before I give my own opinion. Thanks!
Anonymous
>>42303629 I've no idea what the difference would be or what climate model we're using, at this point I mostly just care about keeping the oceanic climate we have.
I don't think I've payed any attention to the island thing, but if you care about it then I don't see why I should interrupt that.
Anonymous
>>42306240 >I've no idea what the difference would be Pretty sure it's just this versus the Mediterranean + Asia minor climate we have in the interactive map right now.
Warm model just means we still get to keep most of the "current" (i.e. interactive map) climate when accounting for the error in polar distortion.
>>42303629 Eh I'd want the climate and things that are affected by it like biomes to be realistic, I have the climate for the colder model on hand so I don't think I'm gonna be affected a lot. Some parts of the East is not gonna be what I want 100% but that's not that big of a deal.
Also regarding the island it can just be some kind of freeport that's not owned by anyone, though still subject to regional influences. If they want it for lore reasons then well go for it I say.

-Every bed is a bunk bed that can hold two Sanalites.
-Second floor storeroom is empty because its where miscellaneous stuff should go.
-I forgot to remove the door in the cellar.
-Small black squares are support beams that hold the building up.
-The first floor walls are stone with the exception of the east wall, which is heat brick.
-Second floor is split timber walls filled with an insulating material sealed with plaster.
-The thin rectangles next to the countertops in tge store are small doors.
-The roof is too low on second floor to add an attic.
-The north exit on the second floor is a fire escape route. It goes over the storeroom.
-The awning is technically a padio. It will have plants and furniture.
-Gutters and chimneys use modern architecture standards the best spacemen can understand with current materials. While there's no tin gutters or steel chimneys we designed what we can with iron and ceramics.

Personally, I am more in favor of the old climates, as the new model throws half of Writhaven into tundra territory and that wasn't really what I'd been picturing when thinking about things up to now. As for what to do about islands, what makes the most sense to me is just assigning them to the nearest region and treating them like any other unclaimed territory. If a nation - be it new, old, in the region, or outside it - wants to have the island then they ask that region for permission and the anons there can discuss it amongst themselves before approving or denying the request.

I am not an active writer still, but I have managed to balance out myself a bit more since I started with CSX so I can be more active again. I will assume the position of loremaster or whatever for LazuLight because I do know that thread and its fanbases like the back of my hand, along with much of pre-Luxiem NijiEN threads and fanbases. I was too harsh on myself back then, when in truth I am very knowledgeable about the threads. We will see if I get active again, who knows, I love writing. As yellow woman hath requested, I shall make my position clear on the islands and climate. And as her and the other brat requested, I shall find an island for our group to discuss that is close to our region. Ideally, it will be something that can be talked about between lazulight/nijien and NijiJP.>1. Climate Change My only concerns are how this makes much of NijiEN subtropic monsoon when I would have prefered it to be Cfa or Oceanic personally. I also am concerned regarding some nations outside of this like /kr/. However, I disagree with Retro's assessment of using two different models. Truth is, if we change, we cannot have two different models in use in different parts. Instead, people like Z, Climeat, Clocks and others can find ways to help them get a reasonable change. Also, I am going against the grain here and saying that magical climate is not totally bad and we must also understand that people come to this thread to have fun and build a nation that they envision. While there is kino lore to be found in cases like /rose/, we should not expect everyone to be as good as Rosebro or want to do that. Some people have visions for their nation that have climate in a certain ways. My suggestion with magic climate is you must adapt it to the Chuubanite mechanics, justify it, and don't make it ridiculous like turning a rainforest into tundra. Spec bio can help, but not everyone likes spec bio or wants to deal in it too much. To repeat, this project is ultimately for fun, and while I was a bastion of "realism" in the past, I think that writers should be given some grace. After all, we have meat killing jannies, Risuners magically being the best sailors in the world, and all MCs, including Pomerlane, having extreme plot armor. With that said, we really need to have a overview of each climate type the way Z does (I have done reps) because it has helped me understand how things actually work. That would be really helpful to all of us, as I think its better to get it condensed into one document instead of relying on outside sources. If he is willing, I think he is the best man for the job.>2. Islands I think most of you are not understanding what the islands discussion is about. It's not solely about Retro sharing one random island but about how we approach the 3.0 islands as a whole and what criterion should be given to someone who wants to claim one. I support Alice's idea of them changing hands repeatedly in history, but that doesn't mean that all islands need to be owned or occupied per se. Some islands IRL are inhospitable for various reasons, and these islands likely have native populations on them in some form. You want to do something interesting? Create original content about some island. I get for nations like Moriji, Tsukinode, Hoshiyomia, Retro Reich, Kanaruca (?), and Nasfaq wanting to hold islands for resupply purposes, that makes sense to me perfectly. But this leads to a debate about colonialism that maybe we should also have. I think the basic way of thinking of this should be.>1. Have lore reasons for it, such as Retro's idea. >2. Have it make sense in a world perspective. While landlock nations can certainly have some random island, I personally think said nations would really need to provide greater explanations because (I am contradicting myself) things need to make sense. It's not impossible. Courland IRL, a tiny baltic nation, owned colonies in the Caribbean for example and the City of Augsburg (I think) own Venezuela at one point (It gets its name from the Klein-Venedig in German, or Little Venice.) What I am basically saying is create a really cool and well thought out reason especially if you are a landlocked nation or nation that doesn't have much of a martime tradition like Dråkenland, which according to our famous Dragoon, has a fleet of a few fishing vessels :) >3. Wars and peace treaties can change ownership of said islands like happened IRL. >4. Create OC content for some islands like /mhm/ rep proposed with the Knights of Ailivia. >5. Remember that this isn't about powergaming, but lore creation. Whether or not the Retro Reich owns an island in the middle of the Kizuna Ocean or Hoshi owns one there too shouldn't be something that should be concerning in any powergaming sense. Powergaming is lame, and if we want wars and relations to be more "open", we need to remove the concept of powergaming from our lexicon and furthermore correct those who actually are powergaming.

Ok, I need the northern twins, Pentomo and Rosemaiden to discuss these islands which I believe can be in consideration for what you guys planned to do.
>Island 1 Lore wise, this was controlled by Watamelon at one point, and I unironically want him involved if he is here to discuss this. This island can very well remain in his hands, or the Imperial Navy likely took it over since that place as I understand was a major problem for them. Interesting island with a lot of lore potential
>island 2 and 3. Both of these are close to NijiEN but it's debatable who controls them imo. This is because of either past wars between both, or that the HIE gave the Imperial Navy the islands in an effort to control the Sea better since Pomerania is the nation here and while they have a navy, it is not unreasonable for some of the monarchs to just give them to their northern friends as payment or even for the strategic reasons I gave. I personally will hold that Island 2 is Pomeranian, but I want this to be debated. If nothing else, their culture is Pomeranian or some other NijiEN group.

>>42367986 First I need to make sure you understand that the Aztec Empire wasn't an Empire as we would consider one traditionally but informal and the Mexica themselves never claimed to have supreme authority over their many tributaries.
>Council of Four. The Council of Four consists of four very powerful men and generals of the army who were first in line to become the next emperor. They gave advice to the emperor and it was very important that he had their agreement in major decisions. The Council of Four are the people that elects the new emperor after the previous ruler has died. The Council of Four must choose a new emperor that was related to the previous ruler. They normally chose the emperors among the brothers of sons of the deceased ruler. They had to be nobles and over the age of 30. They had to be educated at one of the elite calmecac schools, experienced warriors and military leaders and they had to be just.

>Tlacochcalcatl What we would call a Field Marshal, basically the second in command of the whole army. Led it into battle if the King was absent with the Tlacateccatl. Always a member of the military order of the cuachicqueh "the shorn ones". Usually also was the successor of the King.
>Tlacateccatl Similar to the Tlacochcalcatl, translates to general. In charge of the tlacatecco, a military quarter in the center of the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan. Also was always a member of the military order of the cuachicqueh "the shorn ones".
>Ezhuahuacatl "Raining Blood" or "Shedder of Blood," an executioner; an advisor to the supreme leader of the Aztecs; an officer of the court.
>Tlillancalqui high judge, i can't read spanish for more information.
>Triple Alliance. This was a common form of politics in Mesoamerica. The Tenochtitlan, Texcoco and the Junior partner of the three, Tlacopan. Basically what happened over time was Tenochtitlan became the most powerful of the three, sort of the parental figure in the alliance, but the others were allowed to share in the spoils of war. I think they both had resentment about this and this caused both of them to become traitors during the fall of the Empire.
Overall, in terms of /meat/, you first need to decide if you will model the Mexica directly because if so, one city will be powerful and the rest will be tributaries or members of an alliance. This could actually be interesting because it could help explain some problems you have now and furthermore, would allow you to have things like Flower Wars, which i unironically imagine you guys having.

All right, I had a long talk and I guess it's time we address this can of worms. /meat/ writers, gather round. We all know deep inside that recent changes to the board culture has not been easy on us. We've developed this nasty habit of us not being honest with ourselves. Delusional in our own fantasies even. Yes I know we're all grieving over the fact we no longer have a thread but taking it out on the project has not been a healthy decision. The story is supposed to reflect the board, not as a getaway fantasy into our own ideal version of the board. Which is what we have been doing since. Now I'd like to address three issues. 1. Our disorganisation. As much as we've all been at the forefront of contributions, we have not been an organised bunch. Each of us contributed lore in bits that we throw them onto a pile and see what works. For example, our main lore doc. While it is a fun read, it is mainly made up of fluffs and niche topics. Whilst only recently we only thought about homeland lore such as political organisation and legislation. 2. Fantasy escapism Founder, I know how much you've been trying your hardest to keep the threads up. Even getting bans for the team, but the recent story you've wrote where it ends with 'the death of a j***y' brought up an issue where it crossed a line that should not be crossed; self-insert escapism. I know how much you have your grudges but to write that a mere thread, a banned one to add, was able to get a j***y expelled is the epitome of 'mary sue power fantasy'. To carve out an event that never happened just for the sake of making ourselves still look like we're in our heyday. Second of all, you said yourself that you believe in a popular support for any new lore no matter how ridiculous. Sadly the exile lore where /meat/ as a nation is secluded from the world by j***y magic has not been given said support. You cited /ybc/ lore as its conception but /ybc/ anon said himself that he does not approve of it. So to you, I deeply request that you rethink and revise that story of yours so that it truly reflects our current state of what we are, not what we want to be, and to also remove parts that were unsavoury to those you cited. If you truly are a man of your word, and you really want the thread to adopt your method, you should begin with that story. 3. Mary Sue Powerlevel PG, this issue is directed towards you. I understand how much writing lore for /meat/ and the magic system meant for you. You were very passionate about it and wanted others to use it as well. However, your behaviour of insisting on others to instantly understand your way of doing things have been making more harm than good. In recent months you have been increasingly persistent and insistent in upholding the belief that /vtwbg/ is and always will be another front for /meat/. Any attempts at writing lore that goes against your vision, such as /hag/bro's curse idea, was immediately met with defiance. Any attempts at writing a story where /meat/ is at a loss, such as the Risu warlord or /moon/'s defenses, were met with criticism in the name of canonicity. But the question is, what is canon is this sense? Was it canon that has been set in stone, or canon that you envisioned? A canon where our thread is still at the forefront, the vanguard of lorekeeping. But that age has waned away months ago with every new writer. Your insistence on becoming this vanguard of canon has scared away new writers and contributors trying to have fun. We cannot become the very thing we hate; no fun gatekeepers. Like those that kept reporting our threads. You have ideas, good ones too, but you kept shooting down others just as they were about to start walking. And in turn, you insisted on adding your own canon unto others. The recent attempt at making 'O my rubber nen' a canon is one. I know how much each word in a sentence meant to your thinking, but not everyone here thinks like you do. Especially someone who had just joined and did not have the temperament to understand our 'oldfag esoteric pataphysics lore #12'. Which is a problem of itself referring to issue 1, where MOST of our lore have been in replies and fluffs. Not written in organised forms. We cannot accuse the new writers of not understanding us when we do not even organise them ourselves. Forgive me if my words are very harsh for today. But I just do not want /meat/ to become an escapist fantasy. An unhealthy way for us to cope with our loss by creating our own reality.

>>42376094 One day, i will sit down with z and clocks to discuss this more. I can assume that you would likely sail to north eastern KR and as the anon said, unload there and trek south. Sailing is particularly rough in colder climates and the land route will be much safer, despite its slow speed. There is a paradox of AP having excellent and rare natural resources while also having these problems.

I am not happy about the leadership flaw, but the obvious solution is that others actually do something instead of being lazy bums.
as for my ideas, not in favor of either of the topics. seems like it screws over too many people with climate and also what islands are we talking about?
