Girls interacting guys, particularly in a professional setting, is not at odds with idol culture by itself. Idols participate in all kinds of media and male hosts are common. Girls interacting with male idols and males in general who are pushed for sex appeal outside of the very most professional of settings? That is at odds with idol culture. As well as idols behaving romantically with any male, obviously.
I think it's natural that vtubing idol culture would develop differently and the lines of professionalism can definitely be blurred.
