Like if you go to a small corpo thread it seems most people there (in fact the crushing majority) were Hololive fans at one point and/or Holo -> Niji -> small corp fans. They might still watch Hololive too but since we can't all be everywhere at once even if you're legit a fan of a bunch of stuff all over the place you're going to start just not showing up to as many holo chubbas' streams on average if a new favorite somewhere else is on right now doing something interesting.
Ame showed just today with like 8.5k for playing a game at like middle of the night EST (where 80% of the US population is) that yes she can pull an audience still - it just needs to be something people actually fucking wanna see, like Fallout NV, not a superchat stream or some random little fucking crap game nobody's heard of or cares about (but they have perms for).
