A brand like the ordinary, where you can just buy unscented formulations of the actual stuff that does things like niacinamide, retinol, hyaluronic acid, and BHA seems like a better choice.
BUT on the other hand, I think it's fine to splurge on stuff just because you like it not because of the practicality.
