Making safe bets gives minimal return, they want to see something that has a large possibility of making money but isn't living up to it's perceived potential. The gap between the two is what makes investing money worthwhile.
High median viewcount relative to their subs means nothing to them because those are core audience already spending money according to their possibilities.
Investors don't care about them, they're already where they're supposed to be, they want to see their investment return by having an existing entity expeand in scope and therefore multiply their money.
They're interested in how to make casual audiences like subscribers who only sometimes watch, people who know what the entity in question is but don't engage with it and people who might learn because of related interests. Getting them to start giving money or to use that sub count to expose potential money spenders is the goal. Subs are the best way to expose someone to something.
