A black person clashes quite a bit with the idea that something is Japan-adjacent.
Sure, white people are Vtubers plenty, but considering the way your average animu character is drawn it's not a clash to draw someone white, drawing someone black is.
That's not to say it's necessarily "fair" or anything but shallow but when it comes to Vtubers (ESPECIALLY when it comes to 2views) that super shallow first impression is usually what gets people to watch to begin with.
Once a viewer is familiar with the streamer's personality their avatar's appearance matters a lot less, but getting to that point is trickier when that avatar doesn't activate the right neurons.
That being said, if it's visually pleasing and interesting enough what I just said could be countered by novelty.
Just not something like OP pic because it looks supremely generic.
