Watching Wawa since March - April 2021. Kiara has massive filters in place that requires conditions to enjoy her, which is why she can't gain a higher following. This is merely my opinion. Forgive the length.
1/ Menhera has tarnished her reputation. She has gotten her shit together by the end of 2021 and the start of 2022. Her menhera is now limited to vagueposting about work and her health and the occasional self-doubt. She has a long history of failure and humiliation has led to the self-esteem issues. Hololive is her last shot and she will do what it takes to last.
2/ By Myth and Hololive EN standards, Kiara is a social creature. She does frequently talk about being kind of introverted, but compared to how lethargic a lot of Hololive EN members are that is difficult to see. Her extroversion is not necessarily because she wants to be that, but because if she wasn't then Myth would just keep their collective heads down and do their own things instead of coming together. This role she was assigned to, combined with her natural European outspokenness and her Germanic autism about being honest leads to her expressing things none of the others would ever say. - for example, calling out management and the talents when required.
3/ This European nature wards off others. Wavering and compromising on positions is very in line with her upbringing. We have seen it in the various cameos Mamatori has had over the years. It makes her come across as difficult and obnoxious. The "ME, ME, ME." meme is routed in another Germanic quality: Keep the conversation focused on yourself, or how something relates to you.
4/ Saviorfags make up the core of KFP. Actively joining her audience means putting yourself in their ranks. KFP was my biggest hurdle in joining. The flipside is that their extreme loyalty to her has resulted in extreme loyalty returned by Wawa. She will try her best to get to know you even if you aren't donating.
5/ Her choices in games, her European timeslots filters active viewers from NA.
Once you understand the first four points and overcome them, you'll find that Orange woman is in the top echelon of Hololive EN. You don't have to like her, but it's hard to deny that she is one of the few who actually gives a fuck and appreciates the lottery win she was given.
