When he told Tomato they were a vegetable, to Tomato's visible excitement. Then the deceitful and famously annoying orange revealed that the day was in fact, April fools day. The orange then shouted "You Will Never Be A Vegetable". Attempting to disprove the annoying, though undoubtedly correct orange, the tomato had a four hour surgery in which the Tomato had it's god given seeds ripped out of itself, and had the leaves of foreign plants appended onto itself. The orange believed this to be another humorous April fools stunt, and proclaimed "Wow, Tomato! I almost mistook you for a fruit for a sec!". The other inhabitants of the countertops reacted in horror to the unnatural abomination of body horror that demanded to be recognized as a vegetable. The humorous moment ended with the tomato jumping into the KNIFE! cabinet, ending it's miserable life.
