All of Japanese "culture" has been taken from China, things that got through Japan from China, or things taken from the West. Japan has never been a centre of culture and has repeatedly failed to expand past its natural borders. Nowhere can this be seen as better than in its writing system, which is rendered retarded by using logographs design for another language over 2000 years ago, which can only be distinguished by the Japanese in writing but not on speech. But you can see it anywhere else, the constant cutting of corners: American comics are brightly colored, to the point some superheroes are recognizable by color alone, while Japanese comics are black and white, because it's cheaper; Western animation is fluid, Japanese animation is stiff, and tries to make up for it with detail inadequate to its medium or occasional bursts of fluidity that are nothing like what surrounds them; American and European videogames push the technology forward always, while Japan is still stuck making turn based RPGs. Even the katana is defined by its poor steel, and only an imitation of a Chinese sword.
That's all Japan is: a poorer version of greatness. Is it any surprise that such a nation is idealized by losers and pedophiles? Obviously not, as the feeling of betraying themselves, of throwing themselves under the bus, of lying about what they truly want, of killing themselves doing something futile, must feel quite familiar to them.
