>>4363564>>4363637It has its origins in "pickup artist" lingo, where AMOG stands for "Alpha Male of the Group".
/fit/ thought it was funny and began using it ironically, eventually shortening it down to "mog", and finally using it as a verb (ie. "to MOG someone"; as if to imply one individual demonstrates their superiority over another by simply existing).
>>43636374chan also has a long history of taking and "overturning" ebonics long AFTER it's been considered cool, as a form of ironic contrarianism. For example, when the word "pham" was no longer cool to say in the mainstream, 4chan began spamming it ironically (funnily enough, often times they would do it precisely to piss off people like you who would seethe so much about it), and eventually it got spammed so often that it now has a word filter, which is why I'm not allowed to spell "pham" the correct way. This is also the same reason why we can't say "$mh". You see this now in popular pepe reworkings where he is often dabbing on the "janny" with "Party Rock" playing in the background, long after both dabbing and "Party Rock" has been considered "cool", because 4chan's natural contrarianism finds the dichotomy between mainstream culture and 4chan culture to be hilarious...and honestly, yeah, it's pretty fucking hilarious.
