Joining (insert large corp here) comes with real benefits. Including having a real 3D model and being able to do big events and concerts and all that shit with it. There's downsides too, but it's mostly the same downsides she had already just by being in VOMS.

You can do that stuff as an indie also, of course, but you're footing the bill on everything and doing all of the work and planning yourself and a lot of companies straight up won't work with non-corpo vtubers or will actively try to rip you off.

Being an Indie and owning your own IP/Model also has benefits, naturally. I don't know what she'll do necessarily. There's benefits to being in a corp though, if it was my career on the line I'd consider it too.

can't help but feel like she deserved it. trans people have to deal with actual harassment every day. and we don't have a facade we can just take off to make things better. she can take off the anime model, we cannot take off our transness. If she actually did get death threats (I doubt it) then yes that's going too far, but people were right to criticize her for playing HL. I mean, I've been through multiple graduations at this point. Most people in my experience eventually reincarnate in some form, the exceptions I can think of are vtubers who had a different career track in mind or just wanted to be a normal streamer without the cartoon mask.

At the end of the day, people don't change careers often. You can try, but it's hard as hell to get a decent job in a new field when your work experience all points in a different direction believe me I know firsthand.

If she really doesn't come back, she's either getting married or embraced the NEET life, I'm pretty sure.

Thats pretty depressing. Out of all the graduations I've seen this hits way to close to home. Well, it was never a question of if but when. Pika is the only chuuba I've ever gotten a membership for.
You could see some signs she was getting burnt out (family getting sick, health issues, fatigue, depression, cancelled streams out of nowhere to the point that even some mengens got cancelled). I guess this whole drama is just the straw that broke the camel's back.
Makes sense, just hope she gets some nice rest and comes back if she feels like. I'm probably dropping chuubas after this, it was fun for a while, but the drama isn't worth it.
