>>44452939>While I don't know the details, don't vtuber avatars become property of whomever... company/organization that employs them? If she ever returned, she'd have to do a do-over, maybe even abide by some contract policy not to stream for x period of time, in order to prevent competition and such?VOMS owns everything related to the character "Pikamee" so yes, if she comes back it can only be as an indie (with a brand new character) or signed on with a different corp. As for noncompetes, they're generally unenforceable and I can't think of any confirmation of even the big corpos using them, much less fucking VOMS.
Which is why I think if she does come back, it'll be with Vshojo, as much as people don't want to hear it. Hololive is a great place to debut if you're a relative nobody, but someone on Pika's level has a lot less to gain vs the trade-offs of strict management and no IP rights or control over her character design. Nijisanji is basically Hololive but worse, makes even less sense for someone with proven talent to go there. Going Indie means you can do anything while having no industry connections or logistical support, which I don't think Pika would want either, a lot of her frustration with VOMS was not having the support to do things Vtubers in larger corps can do.
