It's just a word. People should take no offense to it unless it's directed with the intention of racism. For gamers, the simple act of using a word to get under someone's skin is just that. To make their opponent mad. Personally, I think the people on the other side couldn't handle the heat, so they labeled it as always racist. That's obviously not true because black people use it. If it was a blanketed hateful word, no one would use it in daily society. So, if the word itself isn't racist we should just use it in non-racist ways. If it's just hurtful, then people should get over it. Obviously the word isn't there isn't as much freedom of speech on the internet because there is authoritive consequences. If the consequences were individual in nature then I don't think anyone would bat an eye. You call someone a Nigger on cod and then they mute you, or they tell you to shut the fuck up, etc. Although, what's happening is that there are people losing jobs, careers, education, and reputation for saying stuff as innocuous as nigga. You can't just say, "You're free to say it, but there is consequences". If there's consequences by authority, then you're not free to say it. Personally, I think we could at least have some consistency.
